Dermaplaning is an effective and safe exfoliation cosmetic procedure provided after a thorough skin health consultation with Alternate Therapeutics qualified skin therapist. Using a sterile surgical scalpel to shave the surface of facial skin to remove excess dead skin and peach fuzz hairs. The procedure is only performed on the face skin. This procedure doesn’t require any downtime for recovery, which makes it very convenient.

Skin needling is a procedure provided after a skin health consultation with Alternate Therapeutics Atherton qualified skin therapist. It is a skin treatment used to improve skin texture and tone. Skin needling uses a vibrational stamping device creating very fine micro channels into the skin to promote collagen stimulation.
Who is it for?
For any person experiencing skin conditions such as: ageing, pigmentation, scarring, acne, enlarged pores.
What results can I see?
Results may be seen even after one treatment. Patients report a firmer, even-toned, more revitalised skin with a visible decrease in the appearance of wrinkles, pigmentation, sun damage, acne, enlarged pores and scarring.
Does it hurt?
A topical numbing cream is applied for patient comfort when receiving a micro needling treatment. Clients can resume normal activities almost immediately but may experience some minor redness for a day or two.
When will I see results?
The first week after the treatment you may get some skin peeling which helps lighten pigmentation or scarring and the skin will look more hydrated. Variable Pulse Light (VPL) skin rejuvenation is a British designed light-based therapy that is safe and a non-surgical approach to reducing the appearance of vascular lesions, anti – ageing, pigmentation, sun damage, facial redness, broken capillaries, acne scarring, enlarged pores and fine lines.
All clients of Alternate Therapeutics Atherton will need to obtain a signed letter from their GP confirming no skin cancer or treatment of, on the face, neck or decolletage before a thorough skin health consultation or any treatment with a qualified skin therapist can occur. If skin cancer or treatment of is present, VPL and LED Light Therapy may irritate the skin.
The VPL Skin Rejuvenation procedure consists of having rapid pulses of light energy directed on to an area of skin with imperfections, while improving the texture, tone, and overall skin appearance. The treatment begins with a cooling gel applied to the skin problem area to ensure adequate absorption and penetration of light energy. Clients may experience a mild heat and / or flickering sensation as each pulse of light is delivered on the skin.
